R.I.P. - PHYLLIS DILLER: The legendary PHYLLIS DILLER died yesterday morning at her home in Los Angeles. She was 95 years old. There's no word on the cause of death, but sources say she suffered a fall recently, and her health had been deteriorating ever since.
Diller was one of the first female superstars of stand-up comedy, getting her start in radio back in the early 1950s, and hitting the stage around the middle of that decade. By the 1960s she was appearing in movies and TV specials.
Her trademark laugh, by the way, was real.
