It all started when the doorman spotted Amanda taking hits off the bong in the lobby of the building and called police. Of course, by the time they got there, she had already bolted to her apartment. When the cops got there they knocked on the door, and when Amanda opened it, they saw the bong.
When she saw they saw the bong, she grabbed it and chucked it out the window leading to her arrest for possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment. (PHOTO)
Law enforcement sources say she was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation first before being transported to the Midtown police station. She was expected to be held overnight, then appear in court this morning.
TMZ says that before her arrest ... Amanda was acting erratically, by doing things like talking to herself. And she didn't surrender peacefully, either -- the gossip site says she went kicking and screaming and yelling stuff like, quote, "Don't you know who I am?"
Earlier this week ... In Touch Weekly claimed that Amanda's apartment was a filthy drug den. Supposedly, her mattress was bare, her windows were spray-painted black and she hardly had any furniture. (PHOTO)
Prior to her arrest Amanda posted a lengthy rant on Twitter accusing the tab of using doctored photos of her and her apartment to prove a point about her substance issues. She writes, "I'm suing them! They [messed] with my photos! That's not my bed! Those aren't my toes! My toes are pedicured!"
"They bought fake altered photos by that ugly black man in the photo or someone who knows him! They morphed photos of my face onto someone's body to ruin my life! I have to make a big deal of this and sue, because that's not me."

CELEBRITY FEUD - KENDALL JENNER FIRES BACK AT FRANCES BEAN COBAIN: Earlier this week, Frances Bean went on a Twitter tirade in response to Kendall's tweet, "Just wish things could be easier sometimes, man."
She called Kim Kardashian's half sister "[an effing] idiot]" and "self-involved," and suggested that Kendall get perspective on how easy her life actually is compared to many in the world.
Kendall wasn't about to take that lying down. She tweeted, albeit day later, "I am aware that I am very privileged and blessed, and I'm thankful for that every day. I know there are greater problems in the world. I pray for those people every night and give back as much as i can."
"So who are you to judge me? An individual's feelings are relative to their environment. You don’t know me -- you don’t even know what I was referring to.”
