His bodyguard held him back, so Justin never actually made contact with the guy, but word is the guy wants to press charges anyway. TMZ says those charges could include attempted battery, robbery and theft -- any of which could constitute a violation of the probation Justin's on for egging his neighbor's house.
Meanwhile ... Justin was rear-ended by a paparazzo in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon, and TMZ claims Justin purposely slammed on his brakes so the guy would hit him. From the photos and really uninteresting video on their site, it doesn't look like either car was messed up too badly.

MILEY CYRUS IS GOING OFF ON THE MEDIA FOR REPORTING ON HER HOMELESS FRIEND'S CRIMINAL RECORD: The homeless guy that accepted MILEY CYRUS' VMA award on Sunday has a criminal record, and Miley is going off on the media for reporting it.
Jesse Helt has a warrant out for his arrest in Salem, Oregon for violating probation on previous charges involving an incident in 2010 in which he tried to break into an apartment. His probation violations include failing to show up in court, not finishing community service hours, and failing a drug test.
It's also been learned that Jesse is not technically homeless. He has a mom who told the media yesterday he could go back to Salem and live with her anytime he wants to. She said the he's chosen to be homeless because he'd rather stay and try to make it in Hollywood.

SPLITSVILLE: Big Bang Theory star JOHNNY GALECKI and actress Kelli Garner have broken up after more than two years together.
Meanwhile, Modern Family cast member SARAH HYLAND has broken up with her boyfriend of five years, fellow actor Matt Prokop. No reason for either breakup has been given.
