Gwyn posted the above pic of herself onstage with Jay-Z and Kanye West in France with the caption "Ni**as in paris for real." That triggered a wave of negative Internet buzz questioning whether she was using the term in a derogatory way.
Gwyneth took to Twitter again to defend herself, saying, "Hold up. It's the title of the song!"
But let me axe you, does it make a difference that Gwyneth is personal friends with the two guys who wrote and recorded that song, and that they were probably singing it when she was onstage with them?
Does it matter that the reason that word is passing through so many white people's lips is because Jay-Z and Kanye and many other African-Americans put it in a mass market song? Discuss.
