CLOONEY'S PARENTS CONFIRM GEORGE'S ENGAGEMENT: GEORGE CLOONEY still hasn't confirmed he's bethrothed to British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, but his parents kinda-sorta have.

Nick Clooney told Entertainment Tonight yesterday, "We are very happy for them. She is a lovely girl." His mother Nina added, "I'm extremely happy. Amal's a lovely girl."

As if that weren’t enough to make us believe the unbelievable, Alamuddin’s law firm also released this statement yesterday: "The barristers and staff of Doughty Street Chambers offer their best wishes and congratulations to Ms. Amal Alamuddin, a member of Chambers, and Mr. George Clooney on their engagement to be married."

Clooney's mom also gave ET insight as to why George chose Amal and not any of the other lovely ladies he's dated over the years.  “On an intellectual level, they are equals," She revealed, adding, "That is very important to him.”

RIHANNA SUED BY FORMER BODYGUARD: RIHANNA'S former bodyguard is suing the singer for defamation. According to TMZ, Geoffrey Keating filed paperwork in Ireland yesterday claiming RiRi made “nauseatingly offensive” and false statements about him in an email to him and his partner last July, and supposedly repeated her comments to his sister in a phone call.

He claims the remarks have injured his reputation and his business. The judge granted a motion that will allow Rihanna to be served in the United States. So far, her rep hasn’t commented on the situation.

Speaking of Rihanna ... girlfriend had fun with a foam finger at a Brooklyn Nets game the other night. Don't judge. We've all done it.

JENNER SISTERS SAY SELENA IS THE BAD INFLUENCE: Remember us telling you that SELENA GOMEZ had unfollowed all her friends on Instagram in an attempt to get her life together. Kylie and Kendall Jenner were among those people whom she said were negative influences on her. (PHOTO)

Well, according to TMZ, Selena was the toxic one in the Jenner sisters lives. Apparently Selena feels that Kylie and Kendall are associated with all the trappings of Hollywood excess, including drugs, booze, and drama. However the sisters say that they don’t do any of that and JUSTIN BIEBER'S girl is the drama-infested party girl that’s a bad influence on them.

Things supposedly came to a head at Coachella when Gomez had a meltdown because she thought Justin was hitting on other girls, and she and the Jenners had a falling out. (PHOTO)

And get this – the Jenner's' aren't the only ones who've accused Gomez of being a bad influence -- even Justin blamed their relationship issues on her drinking problems. At this point, Kylie and Kendall are just glad to be rid of her.

MILEY EXPLAINS HER HOSPITALIZATION: MILEY CYRUS is talking about the allergic reaction that put her in the hospital for a week. She says it was a penicillin-class antibiotic, and she's allergic to penicillin but she had never taken this particular drug before.

"I had basically been poisoning myself with something I didn't know I was really scary allergic to and it was so scary," she told the mantastic RYAN SEACREST on his L.A. radio show. "I couldn't breathe and my skin, everything, was going insane."

She said she took it for five days before she started to have problems.

CHRIS MARTIN OPENS UP ABOUT SPLIT - SORT OF: CHRIS MARTIN spoke with the BBC about his "conscious uncoupling" with GWYNETH PALTROW -- sort of.

Martin never spoke of Paltrow by name, but when asked by interviewer Zane Lowe if the "breakdown of his relationship" inspired the new Coldplay album, Martin dove in head first about what caused the break up. "I wouldn't use the word breakdown," Martin said. "This was more a realization about trying to grow up basically. Like I said, if you can't open yourself up, you can't appreciate the wonder inside. So you can be with someone very wonderful, but because of your own issues you cannot let that be celebrated in the right way."

Adding, "About two years ago I was a mess really because I can't enjoy the thing that we are good at and I can't enjoy the great things around me because I'm burdened by this—I've got to not blame anyone else and make some changes."

He continued to talk about his relationship, but always in the context of the upcoming album "Ghost Stories." "Up to a certain point in my life I wasn't completely vulnerable and it caused some problems. If you don't let love really in then you can't really give it back. So what 'Ghost Stories' means to me is like you've got to open yourself up to love and if you really do, of course it will be painful at times, but then it will be great at some point," Martin said.

"I think in life everyone needs to be broken in some way...I think everyone in their life goes through challenges, whether it's love or money, kids, or illness...You have to really not run away from that stuff.” That’s some deep stuff, man. I hope the album isn’t too much of a bummer.
