R.I.P. - JOAN RIVERS: JOAN RIVERS died yesterday afternoon, one week after she went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing during surgery on her vocal cords. E! says she passed away after being removed from life support, which she'd been on the entire time she was hospitalized.

Her daughter MELISSA issued a statement saying her mother "passed peacefully...surrounded by family and close friends." She was 81.

CLINIC JOAN RIVERS VISITED UNDER INVESTIGATION, BUT WRONGDOING NOT SUSPECTED: The clinic where Joan Rivers was undergoing a procedure prior to her hospitalization and death is now under investigation by the New York State Health Department.

A source briefed on the case described the investigation of the endoscopy center as "routine," and told ABC News that as this time there is no suspicion of malpractice.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON gave birth to a baby girl too. Her publicist made the announcement yesterday. This is the first child for Scarlett and her fiancé. They named her Rose Dorothy.

Word is they’ve been keeping their relationship on the down-low because Sherri is still legally married to Lamar.
