DWAYNE JOHNSON was driving to a movie set in the Boston area recently, and sideswiped a parked pickup truck, knocking its side-view mirror off.
Like the upstanding citizen we all should be, Johnson turned around and went back to the scene of the accident just as the owner of the truck came out to see what happened.
In an Instagram post that included a picture of himself with his arm around the guy, Dwayne says he apologized and offered to exchange information. But the man recognized him and declined, saying, "Wow, this is gonna be an awesome story!"
The Rock checked back with him a few days later to see if he'd come to his senses and changed his mind. Nope. The man still refused to take Dwayne's money, telling Johnson he had already fixed the damage himself.
CELEBRITY COURT - MARIAH CAREY REACHES SETTLEMENT WITH FORMER NANNY: MARIAH CAREY has reportedly reached a settlement with a former nanny who claimed Mariah made her work without pay.
Simonette DaCosta sued Mariah back in January, alleging that she was on call 24 hours a day as the singer’s live-in nanny and often worked 100-hour weeks without overtime. According to the lawsuit, Simonette claims she was fired last year after Mariah decided her twins, Monroe and Moroccan, had grown too attached to the nanny.
Mariah filed papers at the time denying any wrongdoing, claiming any unpaid overtime was due to Simonette not properly notifying her “supervisors” of the extra hours.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but a new court filing announced the agreement and the case's closing. The settlement comes a month after Mariah settled another lawsuit from a former staffer claiming Carey owed her overtime payments. The terms of that deal also were not disclosed either.
